Cheffanie is looking for a reliable and passionate Sous Chef / right-hand person to join our growing catering team.

We’re looking for someone who loves good food, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment. This is a part-time/casual position with flexible scheduling, guaranteed two days off per week, and opportunities for additional work through our contractor/self-employed setup.

Wage Range

$22–25/hour, depending on experience.

This role is ideal for someone confident in the kitchen, takes initiative, and can help keep things running smoothly during both prep and service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Food prep and cooking
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organisation
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Dishwashing and general kitchen support
  • Managing inventory, stock, and product freshness
  • Assisting with customer orders and resolving issues when needed
  • Working closely with the team through clear communication and collaboration

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine passion for food and high standards
  • Reliability, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Strong attention to detail and good common sense
  • Ability to work independently and stay organised
  • Experience with a variety of cooking methods
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs
